joomla: a new shadow

The end of the railspath this is, but the beginning of a new one also, dear padawan.

Yep, rails no more on our path to learn the dark side of the force.
Joomla instead will play the music of the struggle.
And:

This story shall the good man teach his son;

From this day to the ending of the world,

But we in it shall be remember'd;

We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;

So long, rails.
I just found that it was so mucho mucho more effective to take finished OS components and customize them in that beautifully written, MVC-aware PHP which i had always despised for its until now (from my blindfolded, narrow, ignorant perspective ) lack of MVC-ness and programming elegance.

So long, rails, and thank you for all the fish!

build it and they will come

This is as much as i will be saying about my project now.
And im gonna build it and they will come in masses of thousands.
Not that there were so many people asking about it, in fact only two persons know what it is about. One of them, a friend of mine, has faith in the quality of the ideas behind the project, the other person, my wife, well, she would like me to spend more time with her and less time with programming and growing nice, brilliant business ideas.

It's a social network thing. Kinda social, kinda network.
When i let myself go in fantasies about the future of this project, sometimes i fear it could easily take unwanted outcomes, get out of control. Flood the internet with petabytes of, well, of comunication between the members of my network.

Time will tell.

agile web development with rails

i should have started wit this book instead of "social networking sites with rails".
the latter just does not give as thorough an insight into the rails nitty gritties it uses all alog its chapters.

This blog is supposed to be on rails(as in dedicated to...).
Hence the name which was inspired by a presentation made by dan webb on @media europe on javascript-FU check it out in www.danwebb.net.

Not that i really know what he's talking about, im a green fresh newbie in rails and JS.
Im tryin to learn rails and javascript and css, so im reading quite a lot of stuff lately and this presentation was one of these things i did not really understand.
But i found it quite cool anyway, ill probably come back on it again some day.
